NEON PINK AND SPIKES

So this was day 2 of me in NYC.  It was so surreal to be surrounded by so much fashion and fabulousness even just strolling outside of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Faux Building.  =)  Yes that silver building behind me was put there just for Fashion Week.  There were so many incredibly fashionable people walking around, a whole slew of photographers and reporters, and tons of bloggers.  It was a bit intimidating to be quite honest with you.  It is extremely difficult to stand out in that kind of a crowd.  LOL.  But I tried with my pop of neon pink.  =D  I also am wearing this awesome spiked cuff from Doloris Petunia.  It makes me think of Street Fighter character Chun-Li.  KaPoW!  We were lucky enough to get in thanks to my gutsy cousin-in-law.  Hi Lisa!  She strolled up to the two security guards and shmoozed her way through, taking me and Papa DOS with her.  No we did not get into the tents to watch any shows but getting into the building was good enough for me.  Inside were tons of stations from the sponsors of the show such as Pepsi and Circa and of course Mercedes-Benz.  We got some free goodies, one being a hard plastic straw designed by Jonathan Adler which I am totally using to sip some water as I am writing this post.  Everytime I take a sip I think to myself... "oh you fancy huh? oh you fancy huh?"  Bwahahahaha... I'm such a nerd.  Thanks to Papa DOS being with me, I got to take some fun pics right outside.  Even if you can't get into the shows, outside and inside the building, is one big fashion show.  People are out in their best outfits ready to strike a pose.  Definitely going to try to come back next year... and umm... every year after that.  ;)

Please excuse all the changes that the blog is going through.  I am trying to play around with web design so I am going to be testing it out here.  I would love to hear everyone's thoughts.  =)  As always, thanks for stopping by!  And please please please, if you like what I do, publicly follow the blog, follow me on Twitter and Pinterest, and like the page on FB.  Basically just click on anything you can click on.  Hehehe... <3

I am practically drooling over your bag. Absolutely perfect, I need to see some color after all the drab weather we've been having in Chicago.

Raven - I practically scoured the earth for this bag because it was limited edition. Waited 2 months and got a call from Balenciaga corporate offices that they finally found me one. Oh happy day!

just curious -- how do you like the size of the 'town'?

DrunkOnShoes at: February 19, 2012 at 5:19 PM said...

hi mary! i was definitely iffy on the size since i'm a large bag kind of gal. but i love it and having a smaller sized bag is always refreshing and mixes things up a bit. it can still hold my big long wallet, my camera, phone, and small makeup bag. and i like how the town has a long cross body strap rather than the short shoulder straps on the other styles. i hope that helps!! thanks for the comment and for reading the blog. =D

omg look at all the wonderful comments! =)

Ashleigh - thank you and please visit again soon. =)

Olga - thank you for the comment. <3

Curly Chic - she is a local Chicago designer. try giving the store a call. the number should be on the website link. it's a very old sweater but it was a big hit for her so so may still make it as a classic piece of her lines.
